Weekend Wrap Up (9/20/08)!

Wow!  What a week!!  It has definitely been a “roller coaster” ride!  The market started the week sliding lower and lower.  On Thursday, just when the market seemed to be overwhelmed by fear, news about the government discussing a plan to create an agency to absorb the bad loans and mortgages helped to turn the market into a sharp rally.  On Friday, the market jumped again as the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission banned short-selling of 799 financial stocks until October 2.  This resulted in a huge gap-up open on Friday morning and the market was able to hold on to most of its gains!

The last time I wrote a wrap-up was back on August 24 (see the article here).  Since our new site now keeps the published trades automatically recorded and I update the trades on my new Happy Trades!! page weekly, I’ve opted to give myself 1 day off out of a week and not write a wrap-up every weekend.  It’s been about a month now, I thought I’d write one up this weekend.  Perhaps a “Monthly Wrap” would my new approach, and, maybe some “Trading Hilights” each week.

In any case, we wrapped up a week of 100% GR$$N on closed trades:

As you can see, even with a market as volatile as this, we still came away with a lot more profittable trades!  One very important thing is to know yourself and develpe your own trading style that works for you.  The market is there all the time, but, you don’t need to be.  We all need to take breaks sometimes.  When the market environment does not fit your trading style, it’s ok to trade a little less and preserve capital.  Trading ALL THE TIME can drain a person quickly and get you off-centered.  Remember our “Happy Trading” mentality and philosophy?  When you stay happy and centered, good things seem to follow!  Of course, we can all learn more and expand our trading/investing repertoire.  But, the market is ever-changing and has more than a thousand faces.  You only need to know a few well to make good money, provided that you’ve learned the proper tools.  And, the market won’t tell you to slow down, so you’ll have to develop the awareness and patience to know when to keep a cool head and watch from the sideline for a bit.  This is why trading/investing in an online community like ours is so helpful.  It gives you a place where you can learn and share a wealth of information, ideas, and skills with other traders/investors, in a supportive and creative environment!

We’ve been getting lots of inquiries about our services.  Admittedly, our new “social network” site is a little more comprehensive, and at the same time, more complex than my old “blog site”.  All of the trades that I posted above are published with time stamps (presented here in PST).  You can see them all with dates and time on my Happy Trades!! page.  You can join our daily conversation about the market in the Happy Trading Room.  Also, you can see my published Happy Trades live by subscribing to our Premium Services.  Under the Services button on the Main Page, there are descriptions to the various services that we provide.  If you don’t see pull-down menus when you place your cursor over the page tabs on the Main Page, please try updating your web browser to the latest version.  Or, you can scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page, where you can see the complete Site Map of our site and click on the appropriate links.  We’ve also created a “Help!” page to help you navigate through our site.  As always, if you have any further questions, please don’t hesistate to send us an email through the Contact page.

Hope you’re enjoying a happy, wonderful Saturday afternoon.  I’ll be back tomorrow with my weekly Market Forecast!  See you soon!

    Happy Saturday and HappyTrading! ™
