IKN Weekly - It's about time!

Submitted By Gary Tanashian

When I selected Fronteer Development Group (FRG) as an NFTRH holding back in the dark days of Q4, 2008, I had looked at some fundamentals, reviewed the company's heavy cash position, 40-something percent ownership of former spin off uranium explorer Aurora Energy (since 100% reacquired) and most especially its status as a gold exploration company operating in a politically palatable locale, Nevada, USA. I loved the 'bottom in the making' chart, as I had seen this shape several times before, notably on an old gold favorite, Desert Sun Mining (DEZ) before its explosive upside into a buyout by Yamana. In short, I bought FRG and held it for the reasons I normally do with individual stocks, some fundamentals and a lot of technicals.

But this post is about my friend Otto Rock and his new newsletter, IKN Weekly. As you know, NFTRH has been fortunate enough to have access to Otto's (subscribers are informed of his given name and bio in issue #1) deep fundamental analysis via an agreement on his noBS Reports for the stocks of my choice. The point of the first paragraph is this: When I first bought and held FRG, I thought I had a long term winner. But when I finished reading the NOBS Otto provided for NFTRH, and when the man subsequently showed enthusiasm on gold drilling results, I came as close to knowing I had a winner (with patience and the proper long term outlook) as you can come in this racket.

That is how highly I think of Otto's modus operandi which, as his research report service implies, contains no bullshit and a straightforward breakdown of company fundamentals. I value greatly that FRG was confirmed in this manner and value no less the fact that another requested NOBS on NFTRH holding NGD came back as a 'hold', as opposed to 'speculative buy' or 'strong buy' I had hoped for. No b/s means NO B/S and that ethic ultimately leads to better performance over the long haul.

Otto receives a complimentary NFTRH and now I have been more than rewarded with a complimentary subscription to IKN Weekly. The focus will be on Latin American resource stocks and aside from North America, that is my primary regional interest. NFTRH has instantly become a better service as I will now be armed with the fundamental analysis of a real professional; a pro who values integrity above all else.

The four basic parts of IKN Weekly will be as follows:

  • Fundamental analysis of mining stocks
  • Stocks to follow
  • Regional politics
  • Market Watching

Within that structure I am sure there will be many other valuable nuggets and nuance as the analyst settles in and gets comfortable. As for Issue #1, it does not disappoint as it goes over a list of 12 stocks in very nice detail, including buy, sell and hold recommendations as well as targets.

I have mentioned before that a side benefit of starting NFTRH was the opportunity to interact with subscribers who in some cases are very talented and experienced market professionals. Well, now that I am included on IKN's distribution list, the benefits just keep on coming. Highly recommended.
