Wind Turbines
Wind turbines, just like solar panels, are devices that use a natural force, in this case, wind, and turn it into an electric current. A power plant generator uses coal or oil to boil water into steam to turn a generator. A wind turbine uses the power of the wind in order to rotate the generator, so once again the entire process is completely clean.
Advantages
- Need only wind. That is all what wind turbines need. Even a relatively weak wind can generate enough electricity to power a pretty big appliance. You can also get many wind turbines to power up bigger appliances.
- Once again, clean. Wind power is completely clean. There is nothing that pollutes when wind power is in use.
- Extremely easy to operate and install. Use the Free Energy Options guide to assist you.
Disadvantages
- Works only during windy times. When the air doesn’t move, the wind turbine cannot work and produce electricity.
- Wind turbines are not a pretty view, and most of them require permission in order to install or operate. Check this out with your city or town.
Solar Panels
Solar panels are special devices used to generate electricity from the sun. They have photovoltaic cells, which are cells that generate electricity from the sun’s radiation. The brighter the day, the energy you will receive will be in a greater quantity. The electricity from the solar panels comes out in direct current, DC, which needs to be converted to AC.
Advantages
- Require only sunlight. They do not connect to anything in order to function. This lets you use them even in the middle of the desert.
- Do not pollute. Sunlight is a natural resource which does not pollute. Furthermore, the process that goes on in the photovoltaic cells is completely clean with no emissions at all.
- Easy to operate. Solar panels are very easily understood, since they do not have many plugs and switches. With the right guide anyone with who can use basic tools can figure out how they work.
Disadvantages
- Works only during windy times. When the air doesn’t move, the wind turbine cannot work and produce electricity.
- Wind turbines are not a pretty view, and most of them require permission in order to install or operate. Check this out with your city or town.
