The market ended the month of April with a volitile week. Between financial reform issues and the investigation on Goldman Sachs, in addition to debt problems in Europe, not even solid earnings and better jobs numbers could keep the market up. Nevertheless, we finished this week with solid gains. As I have been saying, "gold plays may be the best long plays right now." This week, while the market went through its big mood swings (The Dow was down over 200 points on Tuesday, up more than 100 points on Thursday, then down more than 150 points on Friday), gold plays were going higher consistently.
We caught some good trades on the downside, including a +100% gain on the NFLX puts. At the same time, we kept riding our gold plays higher, with a +94% profit on GOLD, finishing another solid month. Here are the closed trades for the month of April (profits higher than +50% are highlighted):
