The nation's largest carrier says it could cut as many as 900 flight attendant jobs as it reduces flights to cope with record high fuel costs. Airlines and union officials said they would try to reduce layoffs through attrition or by employees voluntarily taking leaves of absence or sharing jobs.-----------------------------Microsoft reportedly isn't giving up on Yahoo. The Wall Street Journal says software giant has spoken with News Corp., Time Warner and others about buying Yahoo's search business. Yahoo has already rejected that offer - said to be worth $1 billion - as well as Microsoft's $47.5 billion bid to buy the company in its entirety.------------------------------Crude oil hit a record $143.91 a barrel before pulling back slightly to $143.55. The rise came after the Energy Department reported that crude supplies fell more than expected last week.
